Major protagonists include two British officers, who have served in combat, a beautiful, exotic dancer, assorted others, who might or might not be spies, a Chief of the Secret Service, who might be the prototype for the later generation Chiefs, his attractive secretary, who suffers various forms of distress, and a small object, which might reveal vital war plans or, who can say, even an object of great value to a Royal Figure. Writing and plotting is professional, chief characters adequately drawn, and situations interesting. Violence but comparatively mild compared to current practice.
