*** MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***First Impression: Honestly I am not a big fan of the cover and yes, I am incredibly guilty of judging books by their covers (I know I’m a horrible person) so I was a little hesitant on starting this book but I was at a loss for anything else to read so I decided to go for it and put my cover judgements aside. I’m a sucker for apocalyptic romance so I loved the book description which is the only reason I gave the book a chance.
Review: It’s really hard for me to stay interested in a book (especially romance) when the authors take like half of the book explaining what’s all going on with the character and all their background before they ever introduce the love interest. So I liked that it only took a couple of pages before Andi (I love her name, total tomboy) meets Will when he saves her from being a horde of zombies dinner. I know total cliché, boy saves girl, but she doesn’t just fall head over heals for him right away. She makes him earn her trust throughout the book. Two peeves on this book. Will is kind of a cry baby though. I felt like every time they had a conversation the dude ended up crying. I’m all for a man showing his emotions but I also don’t want a guy who cries more than me… But still it’s hard not to love him. He does whatever he has to to protect Andi and is still a little shy even though he’s like four years older than her. My other peeve is with the main character Andi. Throughout the book she makes one stupid decision after the next and is lucky she doesn’t get Will and herself killed. She kept saying how she did just fine on her own before she met Will through the whole book but I honestly have no idea how. She’s not a very strong and she’s honestly really immature. It’s like every decision she made left you like, what the hell dude?
Will tries to teach her how to use a crossbow because guns are totally impractical for a zombie apocalypse but she whines about it constantly. And then she has a weird thing about not wanting to kill any animals to eat. Like you can shoot a zombie corpse of a little kid but bambi is where you draw the line? I just can’t…
It’s hard not to like the other characters in this book. You start out hating Janet, who knew Will from a group they were with before. You become the crazy jealous girlfriend when she’s around and just wan’t to punch her in the face but somewhere along the way she grows a soul and ends up being decent, And then there’s Dan, OMG Dan… LJ Baker needs to write a book just for him because I swear I think I would marry the dude. He falls for Andi whenever they meet but is totally respectful of what Will and her have. He is the best friend who is totally hot but you could never see as more than a friend. Well, at least Andi can’t, I totally could.
Overall: This was an easy read. I started early Saturday morning and finished around 8 in the evening and that’s with visiting family and going out to dinner during the day so this didn’t take long to finish. It was pretty hard for me to put down but I don’t feel a huge urgency to pick up the next in the series to find out what happens. If you want an easy weekend read but nothing that’s going to keep you from accomplishing anything else, then I totally recommend this book.

Save Me Life After the Outbreak Volume 1 L J Baker 9781483989136 Books Reviews
I loved this book! This is what a zombie apocalypse book should be-- about the survivors, and the ones struggling through. Andi has been lucky since her the zombie outbreak. Luckier than most of the others she's ever known-- most of who are now dead... or undead.
She happens upon other survivors as well, but Will catches her attention most of all, and it's not long before she's found the impossible in her new world love. And now, she and Will struggle to stay alive, and stay together as they make their way through.
I very much enjoyed this; if you like a good zombie story, that focuses on the survivors and their troubles, you've come to the right place. I can't wait for the next book!
This book took me by complete surprise. I am not a fan of zombie anything but this was recommended to be by a good friend so I gave it a shot. I was sucked into Andi and Will's world. I couldn't imagine having to adjust to that kind of life to survive. I loved the coming of age story for Andi. I read other reviews before I read this. I like how Andi thinks she's an adult but is still very immature. She realizes it even though she doesn't want to admit it. Its a loveable quality, none of us like to admit our faults to anyone and its hard to admit them to ourselves. She grows and changes with everything she goes through and I loved being apart of her journey. I can't wait to read the second one! I couldn't put this down, I was so exhausted but kept telling myself one more chapter. I woke up in with my kindle stuck to my face, now that's a good book!! I definitely recommend this!
When I first saw this book released I wanted to read it but never picked up until a few weeks ago. I don`t know why I didn't pick it up sooner, maybe because It`s so good and there are 3 books in the series and I don't like waiting. Save Me is about a girl named Andi, who is living and trying to survive in a zombie world. Everyone she knew and loved died and she is just trying to survive and never knowing what could happen to her each day. She almost joins the zombies when she is saved by Will, a boy with green eyes and causes Andi to think maybe its ok to not to be alone. I really loved Save Me, I had no idea where this book was headed but I loved it. I always wonder If this could happen to us, but I wouldn't want it because each day is a mystery and very hard with someone out there could hunt you. Andi to me proved that its possible to survive.
I accidently purchased this book and was very mad at myself. I was in my jammies, comfy in bed and looking forward to immersing myself in a good book. I knew nothing about this one. I decided I didn't feel like trying to deal with getting a refund and trying to find another book so I gave this one a try. I was very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the story, the characters and the authors ability to weave a story. My favorite character was definately Dan. I hope he's in all 3 books.
There are some annoying typos but I've purchased books in the past with a lot more. They're easy enough to gloss over. I devoured the book and although I didn't finish it that same night, I did finish it in the morning and moved onto book 2, which I purchased on purpose!
If you're into YA book, zombie apocolypses or just a good yarn, it's a good purchase.
Small spoiler below
There were some areas that I had trouble believing... I mean even if I could allow myself to believe in the apocolypse or zombies, I could not get past my suspension of disbelief and allow myself to believe that this girl chose to live in the streets and wandering instead of her own basement which was secure, had hot water and food. I know the author tried to explain her reasons but I just couldn't go there with her.
